If you have leftover crawfish, shrimp, or any other fixings from your boil, you’re probably wondering what to do with it. After many years of experimenting and hearing customer stories, we’ve decided to share some fun ideas on ways to best use leftover boiled shrimp or crawfish. The ideas below are a great way to make the most out of your leftovers.
Potatoes go quickly at a boil… But if you do have leftovers, one of our favorite meals to make is Cajun hash browns. Cut or shred the potatoes and fry them up to make flavorful hash browns that are already seasoned from your seafood boil seasonings. You could also use them to make a breakfast hash with potatoes, sausage, and peppers.
If you boiled garlic in full cloves, use the cloves to make a spread for homemade Cajun garlic bread. All you’ll need is garlic, herbs and spices, plenty of butter or olive oil, and thick bread.
Seafood boil leftovers provide the perfect foundation for a host of famous Cajun dishes. Peel any leftover crawfish to get the tail meat and set aside for later. The same idea applies to your leftover boiled shrimp. Use the tail meat to make some of our favorite New Orleans dishes.
All of these ideas are a fun way to spice up your shrimp boil leftovers, but the great thing about seafood leftovers is that you can enjoy them as is. Once the seafood has cooled after your boil, bag them and put them in the fridge. Whenever you’re ready, you can take them out and eat them cold. Don’t wait too long, though—leftovers will generally keep a few days if refrigerated promptly and kept in the refrigerator.
All great leftover ideas stem from a great shrimp or crawfish boil. From our crawfish burner to our cooler, we make crawfish boil equipment designed to help you cook your seafood perfectly. Discover innovative solutions for your seafood boils at Boil Boss.

The perfect sauce can transform and enhance all sorts of dishes, and seafood boils are no exception. While the umami-rich, savory-spicy broth with herbs and spices helps to tie all the flavors together in the pot, a sauce puts the perfect finishing touch on the spread when it’s time to dig in.
